West Jakarta Government Supervises Takjil on Jalan Panjang

West Jakarta Government and BBPOM held food supervision for takjil on Jalan Panjang, Kelapa Dua Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk.

West Jakarta Mayor, Iin Mutmainah said this activity is to maintain and ensure that the takjil sold by traders is not contaminated with substances that are harmful to health such as Rhodamine B, Borax and Formalin.

"Ensuring that the takjil consumed by the public is safe from harmful substances," she said.

Head of Jakarta BBPOM, Sofiani Chandrawati Anwar explained a total of 65 samples of takjil products were examined in this activity.

"We found two types of cake products that still contain Rhodamin B," she explained.

Sofi stated that food items found to contain Rhodamin B have been confiscated. Furthermore, vendors are being educated and the origin of the food is being traced.

Regarding the existence of food that still contains dangerous substances, Sofi reminded the public to be more careful and avoid food with bright colors.

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Charles Honoris, who participated in this activity, appreciated the collaboration in food supervision carried out by the West Jakarta City Government and the Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM).

According to him, this step can provide a sense of security for people who are carrying out worship during the holy month of Ramadan.

"This kind of cooperation must continue to be carried out to provide a sense of security to the community," he stated.
